What is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Signature fundraiser.  Each year half a million people across America come together to have fun and raise money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters as we change how children grow up!  Bowls for Kids’ Sake is a perfect way for individuals to make an impact on our community-it only takes a little bit of effort to raise the money that is vital to our program’s success.  You will make a positive, long-lasting impact on children in our community.

As a “thank you” for your support and enthusiasm, Big Brothers Big Sisters hosts a celebratory party at our local bowling center.  No bowling expertise is required, only the willingness to share in our heartfelt thanks for helping us make a positive impact in our community.

Where does the money go?

Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on donations to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships. Your role in this effort to help local children can not be over stated:  We need your help to raise community awareness of the challenges faced by local children and to ask for the financial support needed to help change the life of a child.

For youth enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ School and Site-Based mentoring program:

*90% maintained or improved in social acceptance

*88% maintained or improved in their education expectations

*87% maintained or improved in their grades

Greater financial resources will enable  us to match more one-to-one volunteer mentors with the children who are enrolled and waiting to be matched with their Big, as well as to recruit and successfully match more volunteers with more children.  Big Brothers Big Sisters works to help broaden children’s perspectives and help them learn how to make good choices.  Join us!
